Hickam School Age Program (now part of Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam) has two active 4-H clubs as part of its regular program. Club leaders Patty & Diane have been leading youth in Cooking and Photography projects respectively and the children have been truly Learning By Doing!

Photography Club

Remember the first time you ever picked up a digital camera? There were lots of buttons, settings and other complicated features to learn, as well as how to get those photos off the camera, on to a computer and learn how to make edits. These skills plus the art of photography are just some of the things that youth in the Hickam Photography club have been learning. Below is a sampling of their work.

Cooking Club

The Cooking Club has become so popular at Hickam School Age that leader Patty has had to offer the club two times per week to keep up with demand! Youth are divided into two groups by age and have made a variety of dishes, from desserts and sweets to fruit salads and empanadas. Photos below show the children learning new skills and having fun with their club.
