The Internet was created back in the 1960's by the military for communication purposes. It has grown to a vast network of millions of computers connected together by communication lines.
A modem is a device that converts data from a computer and transmits it to another modem that reconverts the data to its original form. Basically, your modem is used to connect you to others so you can share information.
HTML stands for "hypertext markup language". This is a computer code used to create websites. At first, HTML looks very complex - but it is actually very easy to use once you learn it!
