October 2007 CTAHR Research News

The October 2007 CTAHR Research News is available for download.

Besides the usual features of the Research Calabash, Open grants, new publications and grants received, we feature Dr. Shu-Hwa Lin of the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS).  When we pair the words "beautiful" and "CTAHR" together, it's easy to recall our efforts to assist Hawaii flower growers in their work to produce beauty in flowers and foliage.  Not so obvious is the work done in the FCS Department's Apparel Product Design and Merchandising (APDM) Program.  Dr. Shu-Hwa Lin informs us of her program's efforts to develop "eco-friendly" products.  The results are not only beautiful but award winning.  The APDM program also maintains CTAHR's Costume Collection.  This edition also features another story from the faculty of the FCS Department, Dr. Loriena Yancura.  Lori reports on her recent attendance at the USDA CSREES Grant Writing Workshop in Denver.

As always, we welcome feedback, comments and suggestions for improvements.  Use the comment section below this blog to provide us with feedback.
