  How to Locate Coqui Frogs

Male frogs can usually be located by sound, but they are cryptic and difficult to find. Be patient. As you get closer, males usually stop calling. Turn off your flashlight and wait for calling to resume. When the frog calls again, pinpoint its location as best you can, then turn on your flashlight and start inspecting the leaves where you last heard it. Remember that there often are one or more silent females near a calling male.
