The Noel P. Kefford Scholarship Fund
Eligibility: Recipients must be full-time students having academic standing at the junior or senior level and be enrolled in an undergraduate program in CTAHR at UH Manoa. Preference will be given to a Plant Sciences major.
Criteria:
- Graduate of a high school in the State of Hawaii
- Resident of the State of Hawaii
- Academic merit as demonstrated by GPA of 3.0 or higher
- A record of involvement in community affairs
- Financial need, not necessarily as defined by federal guidelines
The Richard H. Shimabukuro Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund
Eligibility: Recipients must be enrolled full-time in an agricultural program at CTAHR. If applicants are equally qualified, first preference will be given to eligible applicants who are graduates of Hilo High School followed by eligible applicants who are Big Island high school graduates.
Criteria:
- Some degree of financial need, not necessarily as defined by federal guidelines
- Academic merit as demonstrated by ACT/SAT scores if incoming freshman, or GPA of 3.5 or higher if current CTAHR student
- Consideration will also be given based on students co-curricular activities and commitment to career in a field in CTAHR
The Dennis Y. and Brenda R. Teranishi Endowment Fund
Eligibility: Recipients must be enrolled full-time in food technology or an agricultural-related undergraduate program in CTAHR at the Manoa campus.
Criteria:
- Graduate of a high school in Hawaii
- Academic merit is demonstrated by a 3.0 GPA or above
- Some degree of financial need, but not necessarily as defined by federal guidelines
- Student agrees to participate in College sponsored extra-curricular activities and community service projects during the academic year
The Carolyn and Goro Uehara Scholarship for Women in Agriculture
Eligibility: Recipients must be undergraduate continuing full-time classified women in an agricultural-related major in CTAHR.
Criteria:
- Scholastic excellence
- Resident of the State of Hawaii
- Graduate of a high school in the State of Hawaii
- Financial need
The George M. Yamane Scholarship Fund
Eligibility: Recipients must be in his/her junior or senior year, and must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate program in CTAHR. Preference is given to students in Horticulture or a related discipline.
Criteria:
- Graduate of a high school in the State of Hawaii
- Resident of the State of Hawaii
- Academic merit as demonstrated be a minimum grade point average of 3.0
- Financial need, but not as defined by federal guidelines
Hawaii Florists and Shippers Association Endowed Scholarship
Eligibility: Recipients must be a Hawaii resident, enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate in agriculture. Preference will be given to students enrolled in a program emphasizing floriculture and/or ornamental production in the UHM CTAHR. First year students are ineligible.
Criteria:
- Academic merit as demonstrated by a cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Some degree of financial need, not necessarily as defined by federal guidelines.
The Kenneth Cassman Scholarship
Eligibility: Recipients must be full-time students having academic standing at the junior or senior level and be enrolled in an undergraduate program in CTAHR at UH-Manoa. Preference will be given to students in Tropical Plant and Soil Sciences (TPSS) and Natural Resources and Environmental Management (NREM) areas.
Criteria:
- Academic excellence as demonstrated by GPA and other forms of scholarship.
- Involvement in college-sponsored extra-curricular activities.
Katherine B. Gruelle Scholarship
Eligibility: Recipients must be full-time students seeking a B.S. degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition, CTAHR, UH.
Criteria:
- Commitment to a career in a field of Food Science and Human Nutrition.
- Scholastic Achievement (minimum GPR of 3.2)
- Be at least a junior (55+ credits)
- Be recommended by a faculty member.
Sachiyuki Masumoto Scholarship
Eligibility: Recipients must be a Hawaii resident enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student in the CTAHR at the UHM.
Criteria:
- Scholastic achievement as determined by the selection committee.
- Some degree of financial need, not as determined by federal guidelines.
Mabel Inada Ito Scholarship
Eligibility: Recipients must be enrolled full-time as undergraduates in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences at CTAHR
Criteria:
- Academic merit as demonstrated by a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Some degree of inancial need, not necessarily as defined by federal guidelines.
CTAHR Alumni Association Scholarship
Eligibility: Recipient must be a continuing, classified undergraduate student in CTAHR.
Criteria:
- Academic merit as demonstrated by a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Consideration will also be given to a student’s co-curricular activities and commitment to a career in a field of CTAHR.
Hawaii 4-H Alumni/Weinberg Scholarship
Eligibility: Recipient must be a full-time, classified undergraduate student in CTAHR.
Criteria:
- Be a current or former Hawaii 4-H member, leader, or be willing to work with the Hawaii 4-H organization or its alumni group.
- Have a minimum 2.5 grade point average.
- Have completed his or her freshman year with 25 or more transfer credits at the time the scholarship is awarded.
- Agree to participate in college sponsored co-curricular activities and UH or community service projects during the academic year.
- Meet the median income assistance guideline as set forth by HUD for a family of four (father, mother, and two children) as detailed:

Hawaii Association of Family and Consumer Sciences Apparel Product Design and Merchandising Centennial Scholarship
Eligibility: Recipients must be full-time undergraduate students majoring in Apparel Product Design and Merchandising in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences at the University of Hawaii at Manoa College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources.
Criteria:
- Recipients must have sophomore class standing or above and have completed two semesters and at least six credits within the Apparel Produce Design and Merchandising major.
- Recipients must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above.
- Recipients must be Hawaii residents.
Hawaii Association of Family and Consumer Sciences Family Resources Centennial Scholarship
Eligibility: Recipients must be full-time undergraduate students majoring in Family Resources in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences at the University of Hawaii at Manoa College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources.
Criteria:
- Recipients must have sophomore class standing or above and have completed two semesters and at least six credits within the Family Resources major.
- Recipients must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above.
- Recipients must be Hawaii residents.
Andrew and Merle Hashimoto Scholarship
Eligibility: Recipients must be enrolled full-time as undergraduate students in CTAHR at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Special consideration will be given to students majoring in bioengineering, but other majors in CTAHR may be considered if worthy bioengineering candidates are not identified.
Criteria:
- Academic merit as demonstrated by a grade point average of 3.0 or above.
- Consideration will also be given based on student’s co-curricular activities and commitment to a career in a field in CTAHR.
