(ANOTHER) UPDATE ON COUNTY ADMINISTRATORS
Terry Sekioka has been officially confirmed as the administrator for Oahu County. We continue to await confirmation of the nominees for Hawaii and Maui Counties. The search for a county administrator for Kauai is ongoing.
CONGRATULATIONS TO GLEN FUKUMOTO
Hats off to Big Island CES agent Glen Fukumoto, who was named Cattleman of the Year by the Hawaii Cattlemens Council. He shares the honor with Jason Moniz, a veterinarian with the state Department of Agriculture. Glen, not wanting to toot his own horn, kept the honor under *his* hat (the new cowboy hat the council bought him as a gift for winning the award) after the announcement was made last November. Glens work with livestock producers on the Big Island is known throughout the state. Belated congratulations, Glen!
BUILDING AN ANNUAL CALENDAR
Kelvin Shoji, the new CTAHR development director, and Mona Chock, CTAHR alumni president, are looking for ways to engage CTAHR alumni more actively in the affairs of the college. One way is to create a CTAHR annual calendar of events to which alumni can be invited--for example, the annual awards dinner or the Urban Garden Center plant sale. If your unit has appropriate annual events, please send the information to Jody Moore (moorej@ctahr.hawaii.edu). We will need to know the title of the annual event and the date for its next occurrence (or, at a minimum, the month in which the event will occur). In the unlikely event you have dates set years in advance, please let us know.

Please remember to send your calendar items to Dean's Notes. Note that Dean's Notes is appearing only every third week until classes begin in August.
