Brief description: The Magoon facility is located in the heart of Manoa. There are several greenhouses at the facility. Most are specific to one type of plant or flower -- including anthuriums and orchids. Some of Hawaii’s most beautiful and commercially viable flowering plants come out of the Magoon facility.
Current Activities: Currently, research is underway involving commercial anthurium and orchid breeding. Other areas under experiment include kava, several ornamentals, and a variety of fruits and vegetables.
