Grading
|
Grades are based on 3 exams, 9 lab reports, and a personal project/term paper. The first two exams will be held during the class hour; the third exam will be during finals week. The exam dates are noted on thesyllabus.
Each exam will cover primarily the readings and materials discussed in the section of the course immediately preceding the exam. However, as the subject matter tends to be cumulative, you will be responsible for all course material presented prior to the exam.
Homework questions will be given out periodically. These are intended to help you understand the key points covered in lectures or readings, and to become familiar with the types of questions which might be on exams. Homework will not be turned in and graded, but time permitting, we will take the first few minutes of the following class to go over the questions. You are responsible for doing the homework before class and being prepared to discuss it.
