An important part of the Cooperative Extension Service's mission is to provide the community with the latest information from the College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources.  Urban agriculture, 4-H Youth Development, and family resource information materials and curriculum materials are available through the Educational Resource Library.

The resource library is here and packed with many resources, publications, and other helpful information to implement into your classroom.  This material is free to borrow and includes a variety of topics to choose from.

These topics include:

     
Agricultural Publications 

Pamphlets and handouts are available to the general public free of charge.  They include anything from roses to avocados to composting.  Also available are miscellaneous publications on recycling, enviroshopping, and landscaping.  There are also agriculture books and horticulture encyclopedias to be used as references.

Audiovisuals

VHS videotapes, slides, filmstrips, and interactive computer programs are available to borrow for six weeks.  Topics include preparing for a hurricane.  4-H programs, cooking ideas, all terrain vehicles, pesticide use, and lots more!

Educational Curriculum

These materials contain lesson plans and learning experiences to use in the classroom or after school programs.  New materials and equipment are available for embryology and solar equipment.  Curriculum manuals include information about money management, environmental stewardship and training trainers.  Other books include lesson plans, activities and teaching ideas.

School Enrichment Kits

"Talking with TJ," "Ghostwriter," "Aquatic Science," and "Spaces" are some of the many kits available through the library.  Some of the kits include videos, handouts, manuals, demonstrations, and posters.  These are available to educators and caregivers and may be borrowed for up to six weeks.

4-H Project Books

Don't forget about he 4-H Project Books.  These are available for projects in animals, fashion, leadership, hobbies, and health.  4-H project books teach specific skills by providing hands-on instructions and activities.

References

The reference books cover a wide range of subjects.  This includes cook books, cultural awareness, and books on automotive chassis and body may be borrowed for up to three weeks.  They may be used to supplement curriculum manuals.
