May 20, 2005-Taro Forum to Discuss Genetic Research-

University of Hawai'i officials and Native Hawaiian representatives meet at a UH taro patch to discuss the future of controversial research into genetically engineered taro. Research into genetically modified taro — kalo in the Hawaiian language — has been conducted in a laboratory setting for about three years. C.Y.
