Research Support
I have worked with Dr. Wieczorek since I was an undergraduate at the University of Hawaii in 2003. Today I continue to work with Dr. Wieczorek as a member of her biotech outreach educational program. In addition to this, I also manage Dr. Wieczorek’s molecular ecology research lab in which we study population genetics of both invasive and endemic species. Some of the research species I have been involved in studying include Pennisetum setaceum, Senecio madagascariensis, and Lobelia villosa.
Gayle Hori
Educational Specialist
I have a masters in educational psychology and my primary duties involve K12 education through Dr. Wieczorek's Biotechnology Outreach Program. I enjoy creating educational materials and activities that make science fun and easy to understand. It is exciting to watch children and adults getting excited about science and I love being part of that process.
