Atelocauda digitata is a native rust in Hawaii.  It is found at higher elevations and is noted for the large, distorted “witches’ brooms”.  The rust attacks phyllodes, inflorescences and seed pods.  Atelocauda digitata is macrocyclic in Hawaii, with spermagonial, aecial, uredinial, and telial stages present.
