Atelocauda digitata is a native rust in Hawaii. It is found at higher elevations and is noted
for the large, distorted “witches’ brooms”.
The rust attacks phyllodes, inflorescences and
seed pods. Atelocauda digitata is macrocyclic
in Hawaii, with
spermagonial, aecial, uredinial, and telial stages present.
