Rural Development Assistant/Technician (GS-1101-05/07)

JOB SUMMARY:

We promote economic development by supporting loans to businesses through banks and community-managed lending pools.

MAJOR DUTIES:

Provides a wide variety of clerical and loan technician assistance to the loan specialist and manager for implementing program outreach, public information, performs loan packaging, processing and servicing on various types of complex loans and grants.

Duties include preparation of loan dockets for closing, review loan accounts for discrepancies, review loan dockets for completeness and conformance to regulations and legal content before submission for foreclosure.

Incumbent will prepare technical and legal correspondence to applicants, consult with borrowers, agency officials, and general public and will research data and assemble/compile information relating to office activities and/or program reports.

Incumbent will perform routine day-to-day office functions in support of general office operation.

Incumbent will utilize a computer for all work functions including email, internet/intranet, word processing, spreadsheets, power point presentations, and on-line payment and reporting systems.

Specialized experience includes such tasks as maintaining reports, statistics, or other loan/grant program-related information; examining documents and records to ascertain sufficiency, accuracy, and implications of information; providing oral and/or written information about loan/grant program requirements and servicing matters; or other experience related to the position to be filled.

At the GS-5 grade level, you must have one(1) year specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level in the Federal Government. The experience requirements for the GS-05 level may be met by successful completion of four years of education above high school in an accredited college or university in any field in which high school graduation or the equivalent is a prerequisite.
