NREM Undergraduate Capstone Projects
The NREM B.Sc. program requires senior-level undergraduate
students to complete a capstone class to
- integrate and apply knowledge from their undergraduate studies
in NREM
- use information, scientific methods and management tools to address
a real-world environmental problem
- develop career-related skills in team collaboration, project management,
oral and written communications.
The department currently offers NREM 494 Environmental Problem Solving
as its capstone course. The class introduces ecosystem management concepts
and guides student teams in conducting case studies at a local site.
Case study results are presented by students in a seminar at the end
of a semester. Recent years are
