CH2M HILL (http://www.ch2m.com/) is looking to fill a temporary/on-call position for an entry level GIS Technician with an interest developing their cartography, data management and analytical skills. It is anticipated that there will be around 20-40 hours/week over the next 3 months. If the candidate performs well, it is likely they would be offered a part-time or full-time position within 6-12 months. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing GIS support to a wide range of planning and engineering disciplines among CH2M HILL's environmental, water and transportation business lines. The primary contribution this person will make to the team will be to support solar mapping projects and "walk-up" GIS work. This employee will be working on data-conversion and ad hoc mapping-support projects. Applicants must have good communications skills, demonstrated potential to perform multiple tasks and produce work on time, within budget resources and under supervision by current staff. Basic Qualifications

Education: BA/BS in Geography, Cartography, Planning, Natural Resources, Engineering or GIS related field
Years of Experience: No experience required
Primary Skills: Experience with ESRI software, specifically the ArcGIS 9.2 suite of products. Strong understanding of GIS concepts and spatial data. Attention to detail, good communication skills, team player, and ability to identify new GIS opportunities.
Travel Requirement: 5%

Preferred Qualifications

Education: BA/BS in Geography, Cartography, Planning, Natural Resources, Engineering or GIS related field with an emphasis or certificate in GIS
Secondary Skills: Experience with AutoCAD or Microstation a plus.
Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills, communication and writing skills, networking ability, positive/excited attitude
