Research/Extension Interests
- Geostatistical analysis of spatial and temporal variability of soil major properties.
- Transport phenomena in partially and fully saturated soils.
- Soil and water conservation.
- Priming effect of anthropogenic activities on soil organic carbon dynamics.
- Characterization and modeling the behavior of different soil types during solute transport.
- Impacts of agricultural management practices on (i) soil physical and hydrological properties, (ii) macro- and micronutrient concentration within and below crop root zone, and iii) carbon sequestration.
- Fine-tuning economically viable and environmentally accepted agricultural management practices for agricultural and weather conditions of Hawaii.
- Measuring and modeling nutrient leaching, carbon sequestration, and Carbon Dioxide emission from organically amended tropical soil managed with various tillage practices.
