From the "Farming Preparation for Discharged Sugar Workers" series, Dr. Goro Uehara presents his "Introduction to Soil" (1998 VS-096-24:35 min). Next up is a production by Lisa Ferentinos, mostly utilizing a slide-to-video format, entitled, "The Coastal Pollution Problem and Hawai`i's Farmers" (1995 VS-049-13:08 min). Here proposed agricultural management measures in accordance with the Coastal Zone Management regulations are presented. The third presentation is "Azolla for Weed Control in Wetland Taro Production" (1999 VS-124 -19:46 min.7) by Dr. Joe DeFrank. Though Azolla use does not quite reduce soil runoff, this taro production practice looks at reducing use of pesticides in taro production.

The original presentation has been condensed and many additional visuals - both video and stills, have been added to enhance the information output. Dr. DeFrank provides a comprehensive introduction to Weed Control in a variety of crops along with a few tips and tricks.
