I am a biology/pre-med
major. I work for the Plants and Environmental Protection Services
department under the guidance of Dr. Daniel Rubinoff. Currently,
I am working on the Hyposmocoma project. I extract DNA and PCR it,
along with running an agarose gel, purifying the DNA samples, and
send it in for sequencing. I then align the sequences together to
see how different/similar they are. Along with molecular work, I
make logs and take pictures of the Hyposmocoma larvae and mature
adults collected from various locations in the Hawaiian Islands,
including the outlying Northwestern Hawaiian Islands.
