PEPS Home Termite Program Adult Education
 

The Termite Project: Educate to Eradicate offers a series of free termite information seminars for the public.  Seminars are presented in various communities throughout the island of Oahu by UH termite expert Dr. Julian R. Yates, III.

Attendees will learn interesting facts about these wood-eating insects including termite identification and biology, and gain tips on how to prevent and control them. Participants will also be able to ask and get answers to questions regarding termites and their homes.

  • Wednesday, July 7 - 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at McKinley Community School for Adults, 594-0540
  • Thursday, July 22 - 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Windward Community College (WCC), 235-7433, http://ocet.wcc.hawaii.edu/

The UH Termite Project: Educate to Eradicate addresses research, extension and instruction, and brings UH scientists together with the community in an effort to control termite damage to residences and public buildings. Termites are a serious problem throughout Hawai‘i with costs to Hawai‘i residents estimated to exceed $100 million annually to control and repair termite damage.
