Factors that Cause Differences in Soil Behavior and Performance in Hawaii

As managers of the land, it is essential to understand soil behavior and performance. The behavior and performance of soil can make nutrient management a challenge since various soils act in very different ways. As a result, there is no single nutrient management strategy which can be applied to all soils. In order to address the challenge of nutrient management, we can learn about the factors that cause soils to behave and perform in different ways. Once we are able to predict soil behavior and performance, we can implement an appropriate nutrient management strategy for a particular soil.
