On March 13, 2013, Dr. Joe DeFrank made a presentation on “Weed Control in Gardens, Landscapes and Turf" for the 2013 Maui Master Gardener's certification class. Topics covered were web-based resources for weed identification and pesticide recommendations, biology of nutsedges and how it relates to control strategies and mechanical, cultural and chemical means of managing yellow and purple nutsedge.

Suggested method to view streaming media and slideshow:
1. Open two browser windows of this page, one will be used to view the "talking head" and the other will be used to view the slide show images as an Adobe pdf.
2. Click on the link to "view lecture", let the program download and start then hit pause.
3. In the second window open the pdf version of the slide show and once the first slide appears return to lecture video and resume play.
3. With two windows open, you can follow the lecture video for the queues to change the slide image.
