  On November 19, 2025, Dr. Joe DeFrank made a presentation to the FALL-2025 class of Weed Science PEPS/TPSS 481 class dealing with weed control in Hawaiian Landscapes and Turf.  Topics covered in this lecture :

1. Web based resources for weed I.D. and control.

2. Environmental adaptations to turf grass species in Hawaii.

3. Problem grass and broadleaf weeds.

4. Grassy weed control in Hawaiian turf.

5. Topical application of herbicides for weed control in turf.

6. Non-chemical turf grass renovation at the Hawaii School for the Deaf and Blind - 2024

Suggested method to view streaming media and slideshow:

1.  Open two browser windows of this page, one will be used to view the "talking head" as video and the other will be used to view the slide show images as an Adobe pdf. 

2.  Click on the link to "view lecture", let the program download and start then hit pause.

3.  In the second window open the pdf version of the slide show and once the first slide appears return to lecture video and resume play.

3.  With two windows open, you can follow the lecture video for the cues to change the slide image.
