STUDENTS

Currently, the MBBE graduate program has 70 students, among whom 35 are US students and remaining are from 14 different countries including India, China, Thailand, Cambodia, Mongolia, Japan, Taiwan, Philippines, Kenya, Ghana, UK, Germany, and Brazil.  The graduate students are almost equally divided among MS and PhD programs in MBBE.

Since 2000, 25 students received PhD, 34 students received MS (plan A) and 6 students received MS plan B degrees in MBBE.  All PhDs from MBBE were absorbed in academic or biotechnology industrial positions soon after their graduation.  Some who received MS degree in MBBE joined PhD and MD degree programs, while others joined positions in biotechnology industry.

MBBE students have excellent publication records. Our students are authors and co-authors of 117 peer-reviewed publications since 2003.  During these years, our students have also received numerous awards, which include ARCS Foundation Award, NSF-IGERT Fellowship, CTAHR Symposium Travel Awards, ASM Research Symposium Awards, Biomedical Research Symposium Awards and many other travel awards.  Students’ dissertations and theses, publications, and awards are listed in separate pages of this website.
