2007 American Rainwater
Catchment Systems Association Conference |
The biennial conference of the American Rainwater Catchment Systems Association took place August 15-17, 2007, at Volcanoes National Park, Hawaii.

Dr. Carl Evensen presented at this EPA co-sponsored environmental conference that brought together 175 participants from throughout the Pacific Islands to work for dialogue and exchange on various environmental issues. 2007 National Water Conference Proceedings |
Thirteen
water quality professionals from the land grant universities
in the Southwest States and Pacific Islands attended the
National Water Quality Conference held in Savannah, Georgia from January 28 – February 1, 2007.
More
than 108 oral and 155 poster presentations were viewed by
the 497 attendees at this year’s conference. The increasing popularity
of this conference has made it one of the most important
conferences for scientists and educators interested in water
resources held on an annual basis in the USA.

Four
concurrent track sessions were used to organize paper and
poster presentations at the national conference. The five
topic areas
were: (1) agricultural best management practices (BMPs),
(2) rural environmental protection, (3) watershed assessment
and restoration, (4) conservation and resource management, and (5) human dimensions.
Several posters were presented this year by coordinators from Region 9: (a) Dave Crisostomo on a Simple Aquaculture System to Imrove Water Efficiency on Small Farms, (b) Ilima Hawkins on Detecting Leptospirosis in Water, and (c) Laosheng Wu on An Integrated Model for Assessing Reclaimed Wastewater Irrigation.
