Professional Interests :

My research and extension interests include all aspects of sustainable tropical fruit production including variety selection, land selection and preparation, orchard preparation and establishment, plant nutrition, soil improvement, integrated disease and pest management, harvest and postharvest issues, marketing and economic assessment.  At the present time I will be focusing on the major economic producers in tropical fruits and nuts, which are not receiving major attention in other research or extension programs.  Major economic crops of focus may include: rambutan, lychee, longan, macadamia, banana, mango, avocado.  Secondary crops of personal interest or where opportunities may arise include: pulasan, durian, breadfruit, dragon fruit (pitaya), pummelo, passion fruit, guava, ohelo berry, figs, and low-chill peaches.
