Aquaculture Training On-Line Learning (ATOLL)
Tuesday, May 28, 2013 - Thursday, December 12, 2013.
Outreach College, UH Manoa,
Online program, designed to introduce fish farming to those interested in food security and/ or beginning their own fish farm, contains courses in the fundamental science of farming aquatic animals and plants. This exciting program includes a special module to introduce backyard aquaponics production. Aquaponics is the fastest growing trend in home gardening today. Grow your own organic vegetables, quickly and sustainably with the addition of a fish tank.
Students from high school age and up are welcome to attend. Distinguished UH and visiting faculty provide cutting edge information through a series of engaging videos, digital games, and a dedicated social network for students in the program. Stop paying high prices for fish or vegetables – you can grow your own. Feed your family – or an entire village – by learning the science behind fish farming and aquaponics.
The ATOLL online program is now approved by the State of Hawai‘i Employment and Training Fund (ETF) program for individual workers.
