Horticulture Digest #107
FOOD FOR THOUGHT

  • To reduce stress, schedule a non-existent visitor for 15 minutes a day so that you have time for yourself.

  • Try planning a major event backwards. It will force you to break the project down into manageable parts and give you a clearer picture of what you must tackle before you can accomplish the next task on your list.

  • A 900-number service allows you to get an address to go with a phone number. If you call 900-884-1212 and give the folks there a phone number, they'll provide you with a name and address if that number is one of the 80 million listing available. Co st: $1.50 for the first minute and 75 cents per minute thereafter. Note: there's no refund if the listing isn't available.

  • When you're considering purchasing a fax machine, don't just look at the front-end cost. If you're going with the plain paper machine, it will cost you more originally. But the money you save because you don't have to make copies might make quite a difference when you take a look at the total cost for a year. Also: check to see if you have to buy new inking materials frequently for the plain paper approach.
