Potassium (K) keeps plants turgid and is involved with water uptake, retention, and transport in the plant. K deficiency shows up as scorching (firing) of leaf tips and along leaf margins. K deficiency symptoms first start as small white or yellow dots around the outer edges of the leaves. As the deficiency intensifies, these edges turn yellow, then brown, and the cells finally die.
