Sulfur (S) is a component of proteins like N, though is less abundant than N. Thus, S deficiency symptoms appear similar to those of N: pale green (chlorotic) or even yellow leaves. Unlike N, however, S deficiency occurs on younger leaves and the chlorosis spreads uniformly.
