P = Phosphorus. Important functions: essential for sound bones and teeth, carbohydrate and fat assimilation, necessary for enzyme activation, act as a buffer in blood and tissues, vital ingredient in cell protein.

Mineral Interaction: total Calcium to Phosphorus ratio should range between 2:1 up to 7:1.

Deficiencies: loss of appetite, poor gains, bone chewing and eating soil behavior, ricketts, breeding problems, retained placenta, lameness, stiff joints.
