Na = Sodium. Important functions: helps to maintain osmotic pressure in body cells, maintenance of water balance among tissues.

Sodium is important in making bile which aids in digestion of carbohydrates and fats.

Mineral interaction: Sodium and Chloride = salt

Deficiencies: intense cravings (chewing and licking various objects), lack of appetite, unthriftiness, decreased production.
