Aphid damage refers to any direct injury that a feeding aphid causes to a plant.
Where aphids feed on very young leaves, leaf rugosity and distortion can result. A byproduct of the feeding activity could be the accumulation of honeydew on the leaf surfaces and subsequently the formation of sooty mold on the honeydew.
