American Samoa Water Quality Partners
The American Samoa Interagency Piggery Management Council (ASIPMC)
A partnership between the American Samoa Community College Cooperative Extension Service (ASCC), the Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS), the American Samoa Environmental Protection Agency (ASEPA), the Coastal Management Program (CZM), and the local Department of Agriculture (DoA). One of its primary goals is to reduce the amount of effluent being discharged from local piggeries into streams. Extension agents from ASCC and its partners are continually seeking to conduct outreach and education programs to raise awareness of waste management issues in American Samoa.
