Dr. Leary at Campbell Wildlife Refuge

My mission is to provide services for developing novel invasive weed management techniques that improve efficacy, efficiency and safety. The satisfaction of goals and objectives are achieved when stakeholders and clients are able to immediately adopt and utilize any new developments derived from my efforts.

Waipunalei Koa Restoration Project

A replicated factorial experiment to determine the combined affects of selective grass herbicide and fertilizer applications to kikuyu grass (Pennisetum clandestinum) suppression and young koa (Acacia koa) rejuvenation. Initiated 2005.

US Army Pohakuloa Training Area

A replicated experiment comparing the residual activity imazapyr and glyphosate on dormant fountain grass (Pennisetum setaceum) Initiated April 2007.

Wainiha Valley Watershed

A replicated experiment for comparing efficacy of imazapyr, glyphosate and triclopyr as apical directed ULV applications on Australian Tree Fern (Sphaeropteris cooperi) Initiated July 2007.

Volcano National Park

A replicated experiment comparing efficacy of imazapyr, glyphosate and fluazifop on dense understory populations of meadow rice grass (Ehrharta stipoides). Initiated January 2008.

MA'O Organic Farm

A replicated experiment for identifying agronomic attributes of four native plant species as intercropped groundcovers in organic agriculture. Initiated May 2008.

Puu Waawaa Natural Area Reserve

A replicated experiment to determine the influences of timing and rate of imazapyr efficacy on fountain grass (Pennisetum setaceum). Initiated June 2008.

Kohala Preservation and Conservation Trust

A replicated experiment for comparing efficacy of imazapyr, glyphosate and triclopyr as low-volume foliar and basal frill applications on Rauvolfia vomitoria. Initiated September 2008.

Kaloko-Honokohau National Heritage Park
