Preventing Healthcare Fraud

Because many are responsible for helping older family members with their healthcare, ‘Ohana Caregivers are in a unique position to help protect their loved ones from healthcare fraud. This is a very important job because healthcare fraud is a huge problem for elders in our State. In Hawai‘i, as well as nationally, approximately 10% of the money spent on the Medicare program is estimated to be lost due to healthcare fraud, waste, and abuse.
